How many miles...

did your FRS have on it when you picked it up new?

My delivery may be sooner than expected and I might suggest they keep it in their showroom for a month but I don't want it to be a test driver. We're in the middle of winter and she will be just a fair weather car for me.
Unfortunately, I'm an hour or so from the dealer and can't keep my good eye on it.

Thanks.

My friend works at a Cadillac/Buick/GMC dealership and when someone purchases a car, that they hold till spring (Used Corvette, a V cadi, etc), They keep it in the show room and section it off with "crowd rope" things. (those plastic posts with the retractable belts used to make lines for people.) No one is allowed in the car and they keep the keys in a separate location. Only the sales men who sold it to the customer and his manager have access to the keys. That's my friends dealership though, not sure if all do that.

Mine had 5 miles when I picked it up.

If you buy it when the day it is delivered, the mileage should be noted in the purchase agreement. I would be very surprised if they let someone drive it after you've bought the car.

Got the first one delivered to my dealer and it was on the lot for 4-6 hours before I got the call. There were 24 miles on the ODO when I got in the car for my test drive. I know a couple of the sales guys and mechanics took it out and one test drive.

My FR-S had 7 miles on it when I picked it up.

Of all the cars I've bought new, the one with the fewest miles on it was 2 miles (literally straight off the truck). The one with the most was 55 (had sat on the lot for a couple of weeks).

Mine came from the lot with 10, from my parents with 42.

That's pretty sweet. We shall see. Thanks for this.

No doubt if it was the first one delivered there would be a lineup of people getting a lick in. Maybe that effect has worn off a bit by now. Thanks.

Arrived at the dealer with 2, drove it with the Scion manager to put gas in it and took it home with 4.

Asphaltfrs1 01-29-2013 08:51 PM

Mine had 6 miles :)

6, anything with 10+ has definitely been driven, it isn't unreasonable to insist you get it with less than 10.
