How much have you spent on your BRZ so far?

I saw this on the FR-S general forums, and thought I would start one here as well.

This car makes me feel like I'm back in high school modding cars (back in 2000 ~ 2002), and ignited my passion for sports cars again.

20% Tint - $200
Inividia N1 titanium tip - $650 + $100 = $700
Eibach Sportline Springs - $220
Tail Light custom wrap - $200
Rota G-force/tires - $1,700
Parrin Shorty Antenna - $30
Parrin Crank Pulley - $150
HTA Front Lip - $285
Subaru badge over lay/fog HID over lay - $25
Alignment - $100
Extended lug nuts - $40

Total: $3,650

Not a bad start for the first 7 months! Slowly but surely.. I think some FR-S guys are already dumping about $15,000 already.. Crazy Mofo's!!

Other than keeping gas in it, I haven't spent anything. :P

I will probably end up waiting until I'm out of warranty before I start modding things. My luck has historically been shite, so I know that as soon as I start doing things, something will go wrong and i'll end up going down a certain creek without a paddle.

That being the case, once I do start spending money, it'll mostly be cosmetic stuff to start. Wheels/tires, exhaust, tint, antenna, lowering springs, etc. Eventually I'll probably end up doing a tune, headers, etc, etc.

Funny, this car has had the opposite effect on me. I really don't want to modify it past what I have now (this was all purchased over the past month:)

Perrin exhaust - $770 (haven't gotten it yet - delay on GB)
Perrin front plate mount - $70 (same as above)
Grimmspeed hood struts - $100
Detail/opticoat - $600
Tint/clear bra - $1000
Oil valve - $25
Tap turn - $80

$2645.

Funny thing is, I spent about that amount on my WRX and felt like I got a lot more. Then again, detailing and clear bra/tint is what killed my total (which I never did to my WRX), but it is my first new car!

one thing you do when you modify cars, never EVER even think about how much you spend. it will depress you.

at any rate, I think I spent $870 between wheels, license plate relocator and the hood struts

:word:

But I love the aCar app, its great for keeping track of everything on your car. I'm OCD about that stuff so whether I like it or not, info on how much I've spent is readily available. Doesn't mean I have to think about it though...

Six grand. Ish. I don't want to think about it.

I've modded my other cars - $3k, $4k, $5k... Exhaust, suspension, tuning, accessories, etc.

On the BRZ? Nothing yet. Will buy a front plate relocator when I get stopped for no front plate. Otherwise, no immediate plans. When the Primacys wear out, I'll probably shop around for rims too.

Miniata 01-30-2013 10:56 PM

$650 - Dunlop Star Specs in stock size (already had the Kosei wheels)
$125 - Nameless muffler delete
$125 - Subaru car cover and storage bag

Looks like $900 in the 7 months I've had it. The only thing I really plan to buy for it this year is a front swaybar.

Cameronghanson 01-30-2013 10:58 PM

Opticoat with paint correction - $500
Exhaust- $450
Decals- $60
Snow Tires- $750
Brake Stuff- $500
LED bulbs- $75
Springs- $300
Suspension- $400
Summer Rims/tires- $1200
Repairs due to people hitting my car- $1000

Total- $5235

Ugh first time ive actually added it up....
Probably should re-direct that money into something else...

I'm up to $7k already and just took delivery the last week of November. I have about $2500 in body kit accessories I have to order still and the last mod will be the Vortech SC kit. I expected to spend $15-20k to get it the way I want it so I'm under budget..so far;)

Luckily the car is cheap and so are the parts so for less than $50k I'll have a sick machine and no payments so I don't feel guilty bout my weekend toy.

I'm sure there are plenty that have spent way more than I have so far...

King Tut 01-31-2013 09:49 AM

Full Blown Turbo Kit $4,900
Full 08-12 STI Brake Swap $2,200
WedsSport TC105Ns $1,800
