Bigger Intake Snorkel Duct?

The stock intake snorkel duct has a dismal 65mm opening where it draws in cold air.

Not to mention the snorkel slides and mounts into the stock airbox and is DEFORMED in the middle section at that point.

Someone please make a reasonably priced snorkel with a larger air horn opening.

That would be great for those of us who want to keep the stock airbox.

UPDATE: several forum members and tuners have modified (cut) the stock snorkel duct with good results.

A silicone piece would be great. I was wondering about this myself.

I would absolutely be insterested in a new snorkel! I want to keep my stock airbox with a drop in Cosworth filter. I'm sure a wider intake snorkel would make a powerful combination. No need for a new intake at that point.

I think the stock airbox + snorkel seem clunky, but that's just me. I know a lot like the aesthetics of the stock airbox. It's surprisingly much better than any stock intake I've seen in years. (minus the filter)

give us ram air

Why over? If it went inside the air wont be hitting the edge of the inlet to the air box.

I think you guys are overestimating the amount of air needed. The throttle body on these cars is 70mm. And remembering back from my 5.0 Mustang days a 65mm throttle body would support over 300 HP naturally aspirated easy. I guess this would fall into the "can't hurt anything except my wallet" category...

Exactly what I was thinking.
