Does anyone watch Wheeler Dealers?

I think I'm pushing for most Off Topic Threads! :bellyroll:

Does anyone watch it? It comes on VelocityHD (a Discovery Sub-channel) for me.

Synopsis: Two British guys look for old beat up cars to fix and sell for profit.

It really cheesy sometimes and they say really odd things but it's really entertaining and even educational!

yupp, watching it. And they do better work than all the ridiculous american car shows

RRnold 12-08-2011 08:10 PM

I've seen their show and most of the time they seem to do a halfass job especially when it comes to painting- rattle can.

It is "on a budget"...

But sometimes they seem like they do some pretty lazy jobs on some cars. But other cars turn out pretty fantastic. The Frogeye Sprite episode was awesome, and the Delorean one as well!

Yep, I've watched that show for a few seasons.. pretty decent.

I saw the Porsche 944, MB, Land Rover, Lexus LS400 episodes. There was one episode where there was some body damage/rust on the fender. They sanded and fixed the area but instead of repainting the entire fender, they just masked off the area and spray painted it. I was like WTF, that's TJ ghetto bodywork!

I know they have a budget but it just reminds like those shady hole-in-the-wall used car dealerships here in the US. Where they buy a used car from an auction, fix the minor blemishes, detail it then sell it to make a profit.

Yeah, I know. And I like how the entire reason Mike like the LS400 was because of the Auto-Telescoping Wheel.

I doubt any of them are real people (although, they are pretty bad actors).

I just watched the Chevy Stepside one today haha. It was pretty interesting, but the Cream paint on the car was :barf:

if i were to be a salesman, i would be as honest as that man in that show... tells them about future problems and makes sure the customer gets the car thats suits them

Sometimes I think they are (but the sales are negociated off camera) and sometimes I think they aren't.. who knows.

That paint was horrid.. some of the paint choices they've made have been pretty horrible actually.

Oh yeah, their taste in color is pretty bad! :bellyroll:

Also, the way they set up the show, they make it seem like Edd China is this unusual giant man that just stays in his garage for all his life and only comes out when Mike brings him a car. Like a Mechanic Stig... :iono:

I think it could be true though...

I just saw the DeLorean episode which stands out among the so-so episodes this season. Other gems from older seasons were when they featured a C4 Corvette, MkI MR2, and the Miata one was quite a transformation.
