GAP insurance is only for people who have little or no money for a down payment. If you buy the "right" way, you have zero need for GAP insurance. Who the hell buys a car with little or no money down?

GAP insurance is just a catchy phrase that stands for: "I couldn't afford it, so I bought it anyway".

agreed, at most i'm gonna owe 10k

I paid cash and they said they wouldn't lower the price. They sell these cars so rapidly that they don't really give a crap if you buy or not. Sorry man, just the way it is.

this is true! difficult also to get a good trade in value for your previous ride too,
as they try to f**k you there too! hard to sell it yourself, because if you have a relatively high dollar car,a consumer will go to the dealer for financing. so you get f**ked twice!
just sayin'

You can't get below MSRP, but be sure to look at a complete price breakdown very carefully. Most dealerships I went to got all sorts of useless options and charge way to much for all of them (example, they wanted 129 for wheel locks, which are like 20 bucks). If you want the best deal possible, get the absolute base model with no frills, then upgrade what you want yourself. Don't pay their BS "dealer fee" which in Florida was 700, that's just extra profit. Shop around, take your time, and eventually you will get a dealer willing to drop that fee.

hey im new here and just searching alot!!!!! and ive through alot of ppl saying they bought their frs way lower then my price. ok help me out guys. im getting an frs soon just got back from the dealer. from what ive gathered on this forum some ppl saying they bought it 25-28k but is that the total price over all??? cause mine came out to be 31,065 the cars "pure price is at 25,637 then 3k down payment then they said with the documentation fee , license reg ect, it came to 2,185. also theres more with totalk finance charge and there is a deffered price to. so what im tryna say is how much over all are you guys paying??? my rate is 3.64% living in CA let me add there isnt any add ons on it

I saw some MSRP prices at 27K for a whiteout. Does that seem wrong? Shouldn't all cars (regardless of color) be around 25K MSRP.

Car is officially "MSRP", BUT all dealers add in options, i.e. trunk mats, appliques, wheel locks, paint protection that'll kick you up 2-10 grand in a heartbeat and they'll say "But it is MSRP look right there, these are just nifty options we added on" and it's really the only way they can take advantage of this car right now.

Scion Pure Pricing only means that the car is $25,XXX and the dealer can't charge a cent over that for the car, they can charge five hundred dollars for a sticker though and doc fees and a maintenance plan yada yada yada and Scion doesn't care. It's up to you to negotiate the options.

If the dealer is a **** about the options go elsewhere, the joys of capitalism.

Just bought mine this past Saturday. Paid MSRP. Also traded in my last car. I was hesitant to do so, but in my state I only pay taxes on the remaining value after my trade in is applied. Ended up only losing $800 on my last car compared to private selling once everything was said and done. Given how my private sales were going, I would have ended up lowering my last car $800 just to sell it.

I was out the door for about 32k for my Five:AD and every add on they could possibly find.. Tint, cargo mat, bespoke, paint sealer, etc.. They saw me coming from a mile away.. They told me the add-ons are the only way they can make money.. Whatever, best money I've ever spent..

this might be extremely helpful to those trying to build credit. I have no credit. Put down 1,000 dollars down only. Had a cosigner with a credit score of 750. Paid $27,200 out the door with the pioneer head unit. 4.9 APR so I'm paying a lot per month. $448 per month/72 months. Hope it helps somebody

The only thing to look out for is them trying to give you a high interest rate. I had to negotiate it down to 3% from almost 5% (I knew I qualified for lower than that)

Only in the US is 5% a high interest rate. I got my loan at a pretty good deal: 9.5%. No wonder US economy is so awful.

The dealer had stuff on the car that I didnt want, like bespoke, some clear plastic the hood, ashtry, but I did get leather which came out really nice.. If there was a base one to be found I wouldve bought it...

Is this before taxes? Did you get any warrantees?
