You guys think 17" STI BBS wheels will fit on the BRZ?

Any chance they'll design the BRZ to use the same bore/offset/bolt pattern that they use on the Impreza platform? I have a spare set of gold 17" GD STI BBS wheels that I'd love to use on this car if I were to purchase one.

What bolt pattern? 5X114.3? then no

Only if they came off of an '04. Though, Greddy did seem to mention something about a conversion on their Facebook page...

Big enough spacers will let you convert, then you can use low offset wheels and look really retarded :P

What kind of conversion do you recall?

old greg 12-08-2011 06:45 PM

Sorry, no. It was something about how the AS1 is 5x100 stock but they had 5x114.3 Volks on one at the Scion reveal. I don't believe they went into any detail about it though.

Do we know that? Rays will make custom wheels for consumers, so they would certainly make them for Toyota.

Again though, it's extremely simple to convert with just the spacer method.

Or just use the 5x100 wheels out there.. they aren't that limited for what most (I'd guess) people really want. Only those who want super wide and/or low/negative offset wheels are affected. Super wide I can almost understand if you want a lot of race rubber on the car, the other.. eh.

Oh yeah, the STI wheels in 04 are only 17x7.. besides the lightweight aspect I don't see any benefit to using them anyways.

Ah. The one set I saw on ebay said 17x7. My mistake. Although 7.5 isn't much better :)

Well I don't remember who was the one to say it in another thread discussion, but 5X114.3 allows for more torque. Plus, more concave wheels can happen. I mean, there are a lot of 5X100 wheels, I don't know why people are complaining about that, unless it's cuz of what you said - it being they want to run wider tires or some low-negative offsets. :bonk:
