A favor please
I do not yet have my brz and was wondering if someone can measure with the rear seats down from the navi to the rear of the trunk? thanks
|
Let me guess. Skis?
|
close. Surfboard haha
|
Well on the skis topic, I have 179cm skis and they will fit diagonally from the driver corner of the trunk to right behind the passenger front seat. If I run them between the seats they reach to about halfway up the e-brake leaving room to reach the shifter with no problem. I think surf boards are longer than that though so it might be tough. Plus there isn't much room to put the board on its side to fit between the seats because the trunk is not very tall, so not sure how that's going to work out.

Might wanna just go for a yakima rack to be safe...

Also, the opening between the seats is 10" wide and the opening between the trunk and the cabin is 13.5 tall. So, between those, you aren't going to get much of a lean to get your board in sideways. Hopes that helps. These are on an FR-S but it should be materially the same. |
If you are alone you can probably put the passenger seat in a reclined position and put the board in on an angle. I've done this with my wrangler before, I haven't needed to do it in the BRZ but you should get some extra inches on the angle, plus you can still shift and use the radio.

Soft rack...I see this guy with a soft rack on his 911 every day on the way to work. I wouldn't want to scratch up the roof though.
Subscribed because if I get one I'll have the same concern (and I'm a beginner still riding a long foamie). |
I was thinking it might be able to fit down the middle of the two seats and i could prop it up to be able to shift. Well have to wait and see
