FS: 2013 Totalled BRZ FS (~5,000 miles)

As many have heard, I have a totaled Subaru BRZ at my disposal. It's currently sitting in an insurance claims lot in San Martin, CA (close to Morgan Hill). I'm asking $10,000 for the entire chassis, which is complete (zero parts removed), but obviously damaged sufficient to be deemed a total loss. I'm working on gathering pictures so interested buyers can make a decision about whether they would like to purchase.

The insurance settlement was equal to $500 less than sticker value of the car. The car has 5 months of use, and roughly 5,000 miles. It's the "STi" blue car, and the "LIMITED" model.

See pics below.

I have added a pair of friends to the list of folks authorized to visit the car, for the purposes of photography and and removing personal belongings.

At the very least, if someone is able to visit the car to remove these belongings, please PM/text me and I can add your name to the list. Boba would be on me as a friendly reward for your courteous favor.

One point to note is that the decision for purchase must be made in the VERY near future, because we are trying to settle the claim. Please respond ASAP if interested, and we can coordinate details. Aiming to have this process complete before the middle of next week.

ouch just felt my insurance premium going up.
Sorry for your lost, good that you got back nearly all of it. And you'll probably even out if you find a buyer.

Not parting? Only selling outright? It's going to be hard to get that money for a car that's only good for parts, and not many of them.

JackSmiley 01-26-2013 11:22 PM

IF he's parting it out, i already have a list of things to snatch.:D

frsguy707 01-26-2013 11:26 PM

I got dibs on the head lights and front and rear seats:drool:

Dibs on tails and fender vents. IF he parts it. (He's not gonna part it).

I just keep thinking if I was in my early 20's it could be my car written off. I did a real job on my 1 yr old GTI in '86. That feeling in the pit of the stomach, knowing my mistake will result in being virtually uninsurable for years after.

I'll take your headlights!

dun3 01-27-2013 02:28 AM

SE86 01-27-2013 04:13 AM

Either way, the bottom line is $500 less than evening out. Selling this car as a salvage is really just to put it in good hands. I'd rather it go to a local enthusiast than to a random auction lot somewhere. :iono:

I just don't have the time to part it out myself. Otherwise, I would. :bonk:

Find me a buyer, then when/if they part it, you can approach them with your list. ;)

Buy the car for $10,000, then try to profit on selling off the rest and keeping the parts you need.

The car was not driven by me when it was crashed. The car is registered as a company car through a business:mad0259:.
