I'll agree on one thing; they are a safety hazard.

Yeah, I live in McKinney, Tx and i had a lifted truck run over the front end of my 97 Prelude....They're always parking next to my stock height Integra or 73 Charger, can't see when backing out of parking spots. Changing lanes with out caring, backing into everything, taking up 5 parking spots, clogging up 75 and 635 and just being an eye sore.

but if it's tasteful, and not overly done (if you can look into an 18 wheeler's cab or come close)

I guess these pictures were before the ICON coilovers and piggyback reservoir rear shocks.

6 speed manual transmission... Just like the FR-S, but full time 4wd :-).

They are a danger and a menace on public roadways. You wanna offroad it, go for it. You want to drive it on the highway, park in public lots, etc.? That's different. Of course, hellaflush and slammed cars are also menaces on public roadways, so don't give me the "you're racist!" (carist?) speech.

just depends on your area. most kids have them and can care less about the world or everyone around them, because like you said, they are douchebags.

however, there are some of us who like them for the aspect of what they are. mod em nice, diesels for sure can be made fast. and look sweet. i use to drive them around a lot, but they started to mess my back up.

My only problem with lifted trucks are when they are lifted high enough that they're bumpers don't come into contact with the bumpers of average cars. And of course that doesn't take much of a lift for that to happen.

If the owner of a lifted truck smashed head-on with a basic family sedan, the chances are good that the truck's front bumper will go right over the hood of the car and right through the windshield, taking out the occupants of the car along the way. That's why I can't believe it's even legal to lift a truck to the point where the bumpers are no longer where they belong.

That's exactly why tractor trailers have a "Mansfield bar" on them. For anyone who may not know, Jane Mansfield was killed when her car struck a tractor trailer from behind and it went underneath, ripping into the top of the car. This is the same kind of thing that can happen with lifted trucks.

And just for a bit of history, in case anyone is interested. Jane Mansfield was a young actress:

Before she died in that accident, she had a daughter, Mariska Hargitay, who stars in Law & Order: SVU.

I like big trucks. Big brutal tow vehicles, rock crawlers.. etc etc. I like the "Getting stuff done" type of trucks.

The big lifted trucks that have not function or purpose beyond that of being big and lifted for the sake of it is just proof, imho, that gas prices aren't expensive enough.

But then I again I have a very very unpopular opinion about gas prices as I think they should around $5+/gallon.

I like moderately lifted trucks (around 3-6 inches). Any thing higher is meh. I have no issues with them except they do tend to have issue driving/parking them. I also hate to drive behind them in a low car due to debris damage. So I either slow down or speed up to get out of harm's way.

I find Super Ugly Vehicles to be useless compared to trucks.

The front is all pro. The rear is made by ATO and the sliders were made by a friend of mine

I have a factory lifted Suburban (Z71 Offroad package) which I think is fine and practical. I do use it on logging trails and such on occasion so it appropriate (in my opinion anyway).

I'm not a big fan of trucks that are lifted much further than that for looks alone. If you use them off-road then that's fine.

But then, I feel the same way about dropped cars as well. In the end, its your vehicle, so do what you want. Just don't be surprised if I look at it with a "really?" look on my face.
