I really like the end result. Big thanks to Nate and Seth from Frankin Avenue Detailing who did all the prep and application in my garage!! Nate was great to work with. Answered my hundreds of questions before we agreed to move forward. I was concerned about doing the treatment in cold weather so he said it would be good to do the prep and treatment in my garage so I didn't risk driving it right after application and before full cure on roads with salt dust. Instead, all work was done in my garage and then it sat for the rest of the weekend in the garage for the curing process. Awesome service.
After arriving and moving necessary equipment into my garage, they first started the work with Optimum No Rinse wash. I had read about ONR on this forum in another thread and was very interested in trying it. After seeing the ONR system I am going to adopt it in the winter. Perfect for garage washing during cold weather. After ONR, they did the opti-coat pre-application prep and repair work for lots of tiny clear coat mars and blemishes - my car was a demo car at the dealership I purchased from and I think they either used brush car washes or crappy/dirty mtis/towels when they washed. The paint was OK, but in certain light you could see some imperfections in the clear coat from the dealership "cleaning" process. Nate and Seth did a 80-90% correction approach to be safe. After hours of prep, they did opti-coat application and it cured for rest of weekend. Man, it looks great now in the same light I used to notice the little imperfections (see before pics of trunk area). I'm lovin it. Check them out at: www.fadetail.com |
Car looks awesome!

Thank you sir. Yep, I love the lines on this car. The new "shinyness" just sets it off even more. :-)

Just a FYI - Once Opti Coat is applied:
1 - wait 1 hour before you get water on it and 2 - wait 1 week before you wash it. Car looks great! |
It sat in the garage for 1.75 days after the application. I waited 6 days to wash. All appears fine, but thanks for the advice as I was told once it cures (within a day or two) washing is OK to do.

What Thomas said. This time of year, I just pressure wash my car off. It gets rid of all the grit and grime, leaves the car pretty much spotless, even the glass, and no chance of marring the paint. Gotta love Opti Coat!

What was the total cost? Im planning on getting this done eventually...probably at the end of summer 2013. |
Total cost of mine is not relevant really to your specific car. PM me if you want to know about my car. BUT, every car is different - the prep work is what makes or breaks the cost. If a car requires alot of prep work like mine did (6 hours careful step by step prep work) it drives up the cost.
