Renton Toyota let me down.

I talked with the service folks earlier to week and made an appointment today to have the recall performed (ECM Reflash) regarding the coolant readings blah blah blah. I also brought it to there attention that I've condensation in the tail lights and 2 of my body panels that don't sit flush.

After driving around all day in a very disgusting, sticky, dirty POS Corolla (literally a microbial nightmare), I get the call from the service consultant that:

1: The tail light TSB won't be performed. Why? Because the TSB is a "Bad TSB" and the fix in the TSB isn't a proper correction to the problem. Supposedly there's suppose to be another "fix" coming down the pipeline but the readings on my bullshit detector are high.

2: The Body Panel not sitting flush isn't an actual TSB but even with the numbers provided to them, they still couldn't find it in their system and also told me that they; A: didn't have another FRS to compare it to and B: they didn't have a body tech on site to perform that type of correction.

3: The Recall... They told me they couldn't perform this either. The ECM flash was attempted several times (my dashcam video confirms this) and the software kept timing out. Apparently they either can't download the flash file correctly or the file is corrupted. They said Kirkland Toyota has reported the same issue.

I'm going to email the service the consultant this evening about who I can contact at Scion to complain about the body panels not sitting flush and if they can confirm that the TSB for the rear tail lights has indeed been "retracted" or if I was fed a line a BS.

Dang sorry to hear that. Who was your consultant? Try going to lake city toyota.

I don't want to attach his name to a complaint thread, I feel that would be unfair to him.

I watched my dashcam footage. The guys in and out of my car were "overall" respectful. In fact while they were looking at the body panels, they asked other techs to look at them and even the service consultants came into the garage to point them out and discuss it.

The tail lights and even the recall aren't that big of a deal to me but dropping $25k on a brand new car and having body panels that don't mate is problem for me. It makes me feel like I purchased a "used" car. If they can't make the body look like it should I think I might just sell it and move on.

And damnit, I just remembered I forgot to pickup the touch up paint! :mad0260:
