Tach sweep is gone

After the mandatory ECU reflash, I no longer see the tach sweep after the ignition is turned on. Does anyone else notice this?

Tiremonkey0824 01-25-2013 08:26 PM

I thought only the brz did the tach sweep.

whtchocla7e 01-25-2013 08:27 PM

My FR-S used to perform the tach sweep, too. I'm 100% certain. :)
Now I only hear the beep.

akuhei 01-25-2013 08:30 PM

Mine has never done the tach sweep.

Wes 01-25-2013 08:33 PM

I didn't do a ECU reflash, but yes mine does do the tach sweep

Car off, turn key to the position immediately before cranking it up*

Hit the ODO button a few times till you see "S OFF", hold the ODO button and it should change to "S ON".

*You may be able to do this without the key at all, I can't remember.

I think you have to have the shift light turned on for it to do it. It will sweep up to whatever RPM it's set to. :)

Read the manual folks...and do not put children into the washing machine(another manual tells you that).

I read this before, can anyone else vouch for this? I have my shift light set but my tach sweep still goes all the way.

Minor detail, just curious to learn about it.

FR-S sweeps to the RPM the shift light is set to while the BRZ does a full range sweep only...

I *knew* there was a reason I spent an extra few thousand bucks on my BRZ - I get the full instrument sweep on start-up.
