M14 in Slow Mooootion

Im not going to get into the specifics of what it is I do for a living but I had a co-worker take this video for me yesterday when we were out on the range. Rifle is an M14EBR with a Sage International stock (shitty as can be) and a Schmidt and Bender Scope.

If you pay VERY close attention to the 2nd clip (Im shooting lane 10) you can actually see the projectile's vapor trail between myself and the target.

I highly recommend viewing in the highest quality and in full screen.

Slow motion cameras are cool.

I did some high power rifle matches back in the day. Remember one in a slight drizzle of rain. You could follow the vapor trail all the way to the target when in the spotting scope.

Nice. What did you shoot?

Ive spotted and shot from very long ranges and seeing the trail arc and drop is amazing.

NRA sanctioned High Power Rifle matches at Fort Knox, KY back in the 90's. I was the odd ball and shot an accurized Springfield Armory M1 Garand. It's what I had at the time. Most shot M1A's and a few shot 1903's. AR15's were just starting to appear on the line. We'd shoot 300,600 and 800 yards during the matches. If there was time afterward they'd let us back up and do some 1000 yd shooting.

Good times and a great experience.
