tuning in australia
Hi guys,
Now I know there are a few of those in the country that are currently running tuned 86s, and I'm definite of an orange one near my area that has in fact received some sort of tune from some garage. I live in Melbourne and was wondering which garages offer tunes for this car? There's ecutek in the states, but are there also workshops in aus (preferable vic) that have the authorisation of tuning my car with ecutek? Cheers |

Google search for "Ecutek Dealers Victoria" yeilded the Aussie ecutek site where you can view authorized dealers by state. There are probably many more shops that have access to EcuTek, but it only showed up one that is 'EcuTek Accredited". |
Where in Australia are you?

Not in Victoria, but here's one in Sydney

MRT is the only Australian EcuTek tuner, and he is expensive!!
If you do want EcuTek, contact Visconti on this forum and he may be able to help. Or you can try the Unichip setup, the Aust distributor is waiting on some units at the moment. These leave no trace of being used if you want to take your car back to the dealer, you can unplug them and off you go. |
Im keen on getting mine tuned as well once I collect the car, and unless openecu tuning becomes available by then, I'll probably just go with the vinsconti or perrin mail order tune.
The only thing I'm curious to know is, would the factory ecu tune be 100% identical across all markets? I mean, would there be any variation to the australian tune vs the north american tune? If there is....there might be unwanted side effects once uploaded to our ecu? My preference would still be a custom tune on the dyno with openecu tuning. Mail order has limitations. |

MRT is the Aus EcuTek distributor, they are not the only EcuTek tuner in Aus, hence all the other EcuTek tuners in Aus charge roughly double what you pay elsewhere in the world. I'm interested to see how the local EcuTek tuners react if you rock up to get some fine-tuning done on the dyno with your 86 that has a license/email tune from overseas. |
anyone knows wht mrt kits are available?
|
When I had a power commander fitted to my bike I was told specifically not to use the US maps as they are tuned to their fuel. I can't see why this would be any different.

Is a dyno required? I've been looking into a tune but can't find an answer.
