I thought it was interesting ~

Wow - German thoroughness verges on OCD LOL! And what's with the toque?

Gear ratios too long?? What a joke - they are already at the limit of what is acceptable for a street car, at 75 mph you are doing a high 3200 rpm in 6th, 4200 in 5th. The ratios are close enough that you can always stay above the torque trough by shifting at redline (except in 1st of course, hence the crappy 5-60 times). If he had been talking about the auto, I'd agree, but he's driving a manual.

His complaint about heavy steering struck me as odd - I could see that comment coming from a 90 pound woman, but he's obviously a pretty strong guy.

Do agree on the notchy slightly stiff tranny though - far from Miata smooth.

It always seems like the people pumping out reviews for cars never integrate the available aftermarket into their opinions. If the car isn't just right, they say not to get it. To people like us, we tailor the car to ourselves and something like adjustable suspension can be addressed from delving into the after market.

I don't know what to tell him about the driving position problem he was having, but about being schooled by a TDI or whatever it was-- just make the car faster. They seldom seem to consider that.

Yeah I was amused by his comment regarding the gears and seating position quite a bit - first time hearing it.
I personally found the Autobahn comment to be the most interesting comment he made - even if I'll prob never hit those speeds hahaha

I think all of his comments were completely valid, I also think he's a little too used to modern bloated BMW/Merc "sports" cars. To each their own.

He certainly was bouncing around a lot on that Autobahn run - kind of worrying. Haven't tested it on a highway run yet... I hope it's better than the current MX-5 in that regard. The steering sensitivity he refers to may not be that big an issue here though with our lower speed limits.

Seems fairly accurate. As far as highway speeds, the ride is fine unless the road surface is poor....you feel everything!!!

I also was surprised from reading all the reviews that my BRZ remains as well controlled as it does, even when driving in 18 degree temps with the stock summer tires. But for me thats good, I was afraid that I'd be sliding all over the place and end up in a ditch looking at some of the videos.
