FR-S vs Honda Fit? Streets of Willow

Overall I think we had an excellent battle! I had lots of fun testing out my new power increase and sway bar, but 420 treadwear tires are a no-no. Huge chunks of my tread have gone missing :burnrubber: sigh*

From my view! He comes into good view around 7:00

View from the Red S2000!

In my car it felt so intense, in the S2000 looks like I'm not moving :brokenheart:

Best laptime for me was 1:33, hopefully proper tires will take it down to 1:30. The Maxxis R4S is pretty good for street and quick blasts of spirited driving, but now they are dead and the tread looks like it burned all the way through.. lol

Turbo Fit ftw!

U still go to the Irvine meet?

Strive-2-B-A-Driver 01-23-2013 10:39 AM

The S2k one??

Yes

Those tires were crying bloody murder the whole time. I wonder how much you would benefit from some DOT R compounds.

Also, the driver's modesty is refreshing.

god stuff! :D

I used to have 225 Hankook RS3s, I think those were perfect for the car... But I interned at DSPORT magazine for 4 months w/o pay and became too broke to replace my worn out set... It's time again! I have used some R comps once though when my friend let me borrow his wheels, they seriously made my car fly. Through some local canyons I dusted an S2K after 2-3 bends!

I seriously hate people with bad attitudes, makes me mad. So I try to have fun and be competitive, but not be an asshole :bs:

Oh and just for reference, when I had 225/45/15 RS3s on and my turbo only putting out 113whp, I did Chuckwalla Valley Speedway CCW in 2:14. But when I went to 205/50/15 RE11s, the time went up to 2:17. So these 205/50 Maxxis tires must be dragging down a lot if I lost that much on 205 RE11s already!

First thursday of every month, same location ;)

Do you work with Tyler?

Strive-2-B-A-Driver 01-23-2013 08:48 PM

Yeah I saw him regularly!

CSG Mike 01-23-2013 08:59 PM

Small world... time to get you a FRS or BRZ? ;)

Strive-2-B-A-Driver 01-23-2013 09:04 PM

i dont work there anymore :/ but they did put me and my car in the magazine a few times. They hooked me up with rims, tires, and a bunch of supporting mods for my Greddy 4psi Bolt-on turbo kit. After they got me bigger injectors, pump, blow off valve, test pipe AND high flow cat, Hondata, and a tune from the guy who makes hondata and my sister giving me her boost controller.. we raised the boost to 10psi and now my car outputs 170whp and 170 tq. I am still using stock clutch and my engine mounts are on their last limbs, so I was pretty nervous driving at first.. It felt like they kept together fine though

haha my sister has a broken FD3S she said I can track and drive around if I fix the motor, next best thing to an FR-S and all I have to do is repair it. I've put it off for 2 years b/c I know how much it costs to maintain them and I'd rather wait till i'm not broke to start on it. I mean that green FD that was there broke down towards then end of the day remember?

Strive-2-B-A-Driver 01-23-2013 09:48 PM

but on the other hand, I have had my share of fun in the FT already, and I do like it a bunch!

stock for stock, I did like the suspension balance of the BRZ actually, it feels closer to neutral imo. BUT I didn't do the pedal dance and the driving felt awkward at times so NOW I must get them to let me drive it again!!

Perhaps it is just the view from the video, but it appeared that you are very early on many apexes. If this is so, there should be quite a bit of time to be gained with improvements in your line and car control. Also, the tire squeal on corner entry is often an indication that you have too much speed going into the corner; it's usually better to brake more and use your power to pull the car through the corner.

I definitely looks like you are having fun, so keep driving!
