Phila Auto Show a Bust for the Twins?

Did I miss something? I fully expected there to be some tuned FR-S/BRZ's at the show, even one. There was nothing, except the one FR-S at the Scion booth and the one BRZ at the Subaru booth (both areas crowded with people!).

I also spoke with one of the LED lighting companies showing off some of their custom LED work. The salesman asked me what kind of car I had. I told him an FR-S and he went totally blank. He asked, "Who makes that?" I nearly fell over.

Maybe I was expecting too much but there was really nothing to see regarding the twins.

The rest of the show was OK although I am looking forward to the NY show to see the new Vette and some more interesting cars.

You rarely see tuned cars at the philly show. It's mainly for car manufacturers to show off their new line-up.

The tuned and custom cars are in the DUB portion of the show downstairs.

I don't know many tuners around this area that have an Scion FR-S/Subaru BRZ. You'll probably see them more in the NY Show, I believe there's a turbo FR-S in North Jersey.

the car just came out, I wouldn't expect too many tuned ones

Whoa! Hey Gary! Nice to see you're still on the boards.

I agree with you. I totally went downstairs with the expectation of seeing at least one 86. I don't think I like the philly auto show anymore. It's gotten really boring and I'm not even of those tuner show people. Last year was exciting because of the BRZ but that was it for me.

My buddy went and took some pics, I thought they had some sweet cars there.

Hi Laika,

Yes, I'm still around. If you haven't been to the NY show, you should give it try. It's a whole 'nother level up from Philly.

See? That's why I didn't go. Been to the Philly car show twice ever. Seems only good ever few years to see the new designs.

I use to go to shows when there were a really a lot of tuner cars.... SEMA IAS, HIN, Tuner Fest, Etc.... Seems they are all getting big again as the sports compact cars community is coming back.
