The unit didn't turn on for 10min this morning. Good to see it has a safety feature for this. Who says you can't use a rwd sports car in the winter lol.

Damn man -30 C!!

That's damn cold. That said, automotive specification is -40 to +125°C, so it sounds like Subaru took the cheap way out on their head-unit.

Tunder Bay eh..

Heard Timmins was down to -40+ yesterday...

I have a $400 in dash GPS/DVD/AM/FM/CD/iPod/BT/USB unit in my current car that doesn't turn on when the key is turned on, and it forgets the last station when its -10 or colder. WHich today it is...

At that temperature I would worry about the door shattering if you slammed it too hard!

coldest I had was -23 without wind factor, and HU was working fine... but -30... holy shit....

Just so everyone knows thats a Pioneer unit not the Subaru nav that comes on USDM models. In Canada they get the Pioneer Navi.

Yeah we got down to -35 without wind, with wind it was -45... Letting the clutch out after starting the car stalled it, that's how thick the fluid was!!!

And my coworkers were complaining about the 18C temperatures we had midday today... what a bunch of pansies they are.
