Shipping Car Out of State

To the > CA people who bought their car out of state and had it shipped in.. how long did it take to get your car? And what shipping service did you use?

Trying to get an idea cause I shipped mine from Colorado through DAS and it's been 11 days. Still sitting "At Origin Terminal". My estimate said January 24th but I just called and the customer service rep said the estimated date could be pushed back.

P.S. Where'd the CO > CA thread go? Did we lose it to Socal?

That thread is still in So CA side, many shipping info in the thread.

mine took about a week and a half to two weeks from CT to CA. shipping times can vary a lot depending on routes, inclement weather, etc. i'm guessing delivery times could vary greatly by service, also. good luck man

Yeah mine was delayed by about a week to wait for a truck to be available, and then it took about 3 days of actual transit.

I've heard DAS is kind of hit-or-miss in terms of speed/communication. They are one of the largest shippers but they rely on freelance drivers who bid on a job and sometimes it takes a while to find a driver available/willing to take one on at the price they set.

I hear you...waiting for the BRZ/FRS, every day every minutes is sooooooo loooooooog!

Yeah it's definitely agonizing waiting for my car to come in, especially knowing that I own it already... and staring at the pictures hung up around my workspace makes it that much worse!

But good news, got a call from DAS today and they said they were having trouble getting an enclosed trailer, so I just went for an open trailer instead and asked for top placement. Not what I hoped for originally, but I'd rather have a dirty car than no car at all.

I used Intercity Lines, closed carriers. It was quite pricey compared to the other alternatives, but it is by FAR the most well known closed carrier transport. Jay Leno endorses them personally due to the high amount of cars he ships through them. The majority of the cars being transported are classic cars. I paid for reassurance. :) It took them 2 days from Colorado to California.

Sounds like logistically they are looking for a truck making that trip. Congrats on the car BTW!

Wow, 2 days thats awesome. But I suspect that's A LOT pricier than I was willing to pay. I considered going with the dealer suggested carrier since I heard they were faster, but realistically they're probably all the same, so I stayed with DAS.

Goodluck! :)

Oops! I think I was looking at another thread and posted it here for some weird reason. My bad!

I got mines from Groove (near Denver).
Delivery started on Monday, was estimated to arrive on Wednesday evening but the driver hit a COW. The truck was busted so another company came, inspected the car and took it the rest of the way. I ended up getting it on Friday late afternoon. Not bad considering all that happened.

Used the dealer's shipping company. Car was HELLA dirty was it arrived, second company said they cleaned it a bit as well.

I shipped my car from Tx to CA using Autoline transport. They were actually really good for a great price too. It was delivered in less than 4 days and they always picked up the phone when I called. Most companies I have delt with in the past were not always available when I called. Anyway, hope things work out for you.
