What happened to the LED DRL's???

Wow, since the news of the FRS/BRZ broke news or speculation seems to be flying at warp speeds so excuse me if I've missed a lot of info here. Work and a crazy move have kept me busy.

But like my title states WHAT HAPPENED TO THE LED DRL's???!!! I know people have mixed opinions on them, but I personally love them and it doesn't hurt that they provide an additional layer of safety when you're on the road. So is it safe to say that both the FRS and the BRZ will not have them for the NA market?

BRZ will have it's DRLs, the Scion will have none. However, it is speculated that the DRL/HID headlight will be a factory option.

I think DRLs have been in US Law since the 90s, but those are just the dim lamps in the headlights that almost every car has. Bright LEDs is a new fashion trend thanks to those zany germans, but they aren't any different from the the yellow daytime lamps of yesteryear.

Yes, California requires DRL's.

True that the Germans made them popular, but compared to regular halogen DRL's LED DRL's are so much better! I hope that they will make them available on the FRS.

German made LED popular, but Japanese used LED first.

I thought this was said to be standard on the BRZ (well according to MT).

They did? I don't remember seeing LED DRLs on anything before Audi did it in 2004 A8. And for trendsetters, they're doing an awful job. When you use your turn signals, that side LED turns off. It looks like the car is broken every time you're sitting at a light waiting to turn. My mother's IS350AWD has an LED strip in the headlight too, but it just dims when the headlights are on.

Looks like both the premium and limited BRZ have the HIDS and LED DRL's.

The based Scion has halogen headlights with not HIDs and LED DRL's. There better be an option from scion...hehe....yeah there will be, they just ain't saying what the options are yet.:iono: Scion is not gonna let us down :brokenheart: for those that want them....

California, nor any state in the U.S. require DRLs, and the DOT will not mandate them based on the volume of public complaints shortly after they were permitted.

I meant that the Scion's will be an option. BRZ's is standard.

I'd take the following options with the FRS:
- Toyota emblems
- Center stack from the 86/BRZ
- Push button start
- LED headlights
- Nav

I'd essentially pay an additional $6k if they would sell me the GT86 vs that Scion.
