Portland
So I don't know if this is just courtesy when driving on the roads out here in the north but I'm from Cali and I've never seen people move out of the way for me as I'm pushing it in the FR-S. Mad respect out here!?

The asshats here do not use the rearview mirrors, and even if they did, they don't really share the mentality the rest of the country has about the left lane. Get used to it. I do most of my passing on the right.
|
Oregon requires a person to stay right except to pass but few follow that rule and no one is ever pulled over because of it, thus me passing on the right, sometimes at speeds as low as 5 over the limit.
|
Oregon drivers are pretty chill.. most of them drive at or below speed limit. Kind of slow. BUT! I will say it's possible to make left turns out of light-less intersections and most multi-lane merges given ample time and signaling. Most folks yield out here. I hate driving in CA; I always try to ensure that my travel consists of me having the most right of way, cause there isn't going to be any courtesy from other drivers "letting me in".

I'm originally from Cali and the drivers here drive like they have no place to be.. Slow. And they don't move out of the right lane. Merging at speed seems to be incredibly difficult for these folks too.. Like a zipper people, like a friggin zipper!

Portland idiots never move over. They have no problems cutting you off and then cruising below the speed limit.
I've had people flip me off after cutting me off (making me slam on my breaks) simply because I flash my brights a couple of times. Bizarre here. |

I use to live in Beaverton and people NEVER moved out of the left lane even if they are driving 50-55...it's much better up here in Seattle and the speed limit is higher but there are still those idiots that won't move, just not as common as in Oregon. And I've witnessed the terrible merging down there as well...i just don't understand why people find it so difficult to merge
