GReddy in on-deck circle. GReddy turbo for FR-S/BRZ first up.
http://blog.roadandtrack.com/the-ae8...-corolla-gt-s/
Kenji Sumino, President of Greddy, revealed his future plans for the FR-S. “The first thing on the agenda is a turbo kit. Placement is going to be tricky with the engine configuration—the FR-S is more of a front midship design so space for a turbo is limited. Now that we have some time, our engineers are going to be busy.” Besides boost, a host of aftermarket parts such as exhaust systems, intake kit, headers, lowering springs, strut bars, control arms, oil cooler kit, radiator, as well as accessories, are all being developed by Greddy. Kenji plans on offering a full engine part catalog to augment the turbo kit down the line. |
Nice. I wont have the money for most of this but it will be fun to follow the aftermarket development for this car.

They should do a turbo build like they do on the LSX platforms. Reverse headers so the turbo is upfront, either right behind the intercooler, or to a designated side near a header or something..and then have the DP go down and around.
...will definitely need some sort of shield so water doesn't splash all over it assuming the radiator/intercooler wont shield off all the water during heavy downpours...weakening the turbo over time (hot/cold cycles..kinda like brake warping..) |
Well happy someone is onboard already in the game. More competition the better for us as the consumers. Hopefully will bring prices down a little with more competition.

I knew someone would come out with a turbo kit and curious to see how Greddy would make it fit. If have full TRUST in them... :D
|
How does a company like GReddy get their own BRZ to work with?
Kind of seems unfair to other companies without the connections with Toyota and Subaru... |
They are private companies, they decide what is fair to do with their models.

That being said, they make good stuff. But $... |

Looks like they went through a re-org in 09 Bankruptcy/Reorganization (Minji-Saisei-Hou) According to various reports, by 2008 TRUST was approximately $60 million in debt and, after reporting a serious decline in sales since February 2008 and amassing $43 million in loan payments, they filed for Minji-saisei-hou in Tokyo District Court on September 10, 2008, the U.S. equivalent of a Chapter 11 reorganization plan. The U.S. division was unaffected by the bankruptcy.[1] It wasn't until March 2009 that TRUST Co. LTD had successfully completed reorganization through Minji-saisei-hou http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GReddy |

Well, and staying off toyota's shitlist. |
Just wait until SEMA next year and all the "big" shows they will be all over
|
Can't wait!
|
It's probably going to be "vapor" like the IS350 turbo kit that was @ 5 psi and cost way too much
