Coilover Review: FEAL SUSPENSION 441 coilover kit

Hey FT86,
Recently I got the opportunity to test out a set of FEAL SUSPENSION's new coilover kit for the FR-S/BRZ. These coilovers are put together by human hands and are made to you LIKING! They are built by non other than Odi Bakchis, a professional Formula D drifter. So you know these coilovers can take a beating and they're made by enthusiasts for enthusiasts!

Coilover Specs (taken from their site):
Quote:

- Cost: $1350
- One way adjustable, 30 click dampening
- Height Adjustable
- Monotube, Nitrogen filled gas shocks
- Assembled and rebuildable in USA
- Camber plates for the front w/ aluminum top mounts
- SWIFT Springs 7k in the front, 6k in the rear
They also offer different valving and spring ratings if one desires!

Review:
Me being in Los Angeles I drove to Rancho Cucamonga where FEAL SUSPENSION is which was about a ~40 mile drive. The 134/210 freeway is one that can let you really feel your suspension, stock or not. After installation and the way back home the 7k/6k Swift springs are a PERFECT set up for daily driving. They're slightly stiffer than stock but are still noticeably stiffer when driving hard and taking hard turns! By that these are the kind of coilovers that you can take to the tracks and canyons and would perform well!

My car is set at .75 finger gap in the front and 1 finger gap in the rear. Odi says that is the ideal suspension height for the FR-S, its low (not slammed) and still consists of its perfect suspension geometry.

Yes he actually does! He makes them for you liking and purposes. I chose the 7k/6k for daily driving and canyon runs, and of course occasional "accidental" drifts

hit him up!

The front is set as low as the perches will allow? Or is the photo before the front height has been set?

Right now they're maxed out. And that's the .75 finger gap you see.
When purchasing you can request for a smaller spring so you can go lower.
Hope it helps :)

Does anyone have a direct comparison between the FEAL suspension 441 and the Fortune Auto 500s?

I've searched and couldn't find anything.

How are these holding up for ya? Got new wheels yet?

Calum 01-06-2014 10:19 PM

Is that 7kg/mm front and 6kg/mm rear?

And can you define a finger gap?

.....stick your finger in the wheel gap. That's finger gap. Of course some people have sausage fingers and others pasta fingers, but you get the idea.
