Yes. The paint code is on the door jamb's decal on the driver's side. Most new paints have the three alpha-numeric description. Your local body shop may want to see your car in person, as some more reputable paint suppliers may want to see the color to make a live comparison. I was told that there are shades that can be employed also, as the first whiteout car in a series on the production line could be slightly different than the whiteout painted in the middle/end of a production run, think of cleaning out the paint sprayers between colors.

BTW, I love that the paint code for Hot Lava is H8R, hater...

To supplement what mkiisupra said,
Look for a shop that will actually take the time to run some samples against your car and try to match. Not just mix a formula and call it a day.
If they don't ask, keep looking. A good painter will go the extra mile, and will ask or inform.

My paint code is on the decal on the passenger side.

Sounds like you're in good hands. Hopefully the original clearcoat on the fin doesn't lift. Shouldn't be a problem if it's two stage tho.
Are they going to strip it or just go right over it?

Good luck!

Jenny, check out somewhere in this forum there were some painted shark fin. it will save you all the trouble. In case you like to paint something, try to group some guys together, there maybe people want to paint other stuff like wings or mud flaps, just to share the set up cost.

Beatsonic is your friend. http://www.beatsonicusa.com/shark-fi...scion/frs.html

Make sure its stripped. But any body shop would know to do that. They won't be able to match it perfect, subaru pearl white is the most difficult to match. I literally just asked my painter. You should just make it black. Make it two tone.

You might be better off selling the one you have and buying one in the right color.

You should not have as much a worry on exact matching with the shark fin, depending on which one it is. My one from beatsonic has a black rubber trim along the bottom. So the new paint and stock paint are not actually butted up against each other and differences won't be as obvious.

Well im getting it painted for free lol so might as well. and it was a free shark fin lol saves me 80-100+ bucks.
