Sit in the rear seat for me ;) (with photos of people in back seat)
1 Attachment(s)
Just wanted a picture, or thoughts, on the rear seat space in this car.
I KNOW it is a small car. I understand that. Its just... if I get this car, it will have to afford some practicality to justify it being my only car. If there is literally no way for someone of average height to sit in the rear seats, I'll have to continue dreaming and start looking at other cars. Thanks! Updated with pic of four people in the car, and adults in the back seat. Attachment 3432 |
I can't wait to see some pics of some 6ft guy fetal-positioning himself in the rear seats.
I don't know, I get a kick out of it for some reason. Like watching people struggle to get out of Lotuses. It's just hilarious. |
I've honestly never sat in a coupe and been comfortable in the rear seat (I'm 6').
I have friends with Mustang GT, Scion tC, E46 3 series, and Civic Si, and have ridden in the back seat of all of them. They were all very cramped and I bumped my head on the rear glass. The Mustang especially was incredibly uncomfortable, 3 series was by far the nicest but still not something I'd want to spend a lot of time in. I also sat in the back seat of a GC at an auto show and had my friend sit in front and there was no way I could have ridden in it like that. Why would the ft86, which is smaller than all of them, be any different? After those experiences I would never want anyone I considered a friend to ride in the back seat of this car, unless it was a very short trip. I don't think there is a coupe on the planet that will fit 4 6-footers comfortably. |
Im 5'10 and i felt a bit uncomforatable in the rear seats of the Scion tC. Not enough head room and the dumb ass driver(a friend of a friend) kept trying to take every corner or turn hard as fuhh so i kept ramming my head against the rear pillar. I Disliked the space and view of that interior, but hopefully for the money we're paying we get a step up from the tC.

DIMENSION: FR-S tC LENGTH: 166.7 in. 174.0 in. WIDTH: 69.9 in. 70.7 in. HEIGHT: 51.2 in. 55.7 in. WHEELBASE: 101.2 in. 106.3 in. As an aside, I thought the current tC back seats were pretty awesome for a small coupe. Getting in and out stinks, but once you are in there, it isn't too bad. I don't expect to put people in the back of the FR-S other than having absolutely no other choice. |
They're just for gallons of milk or small children. But that's what the trunk's for, too.

My brother has a Genesis Coupe. I'm 5'6" and I'm cramped and hit my head on the glass in the back. The 86 is much smaller than the Genesis, so I would assume it's not going to be fun back there.

I've fit 5 people in a crx. Just saying.
I would appreciate a picture of a person in the back seat though. |
i think its safe to say that it want be a good space, if it was it woud have been one single picture on the hole web whit someone in the back. we have all this pictures but nobody thought about getting in the back? there is a reason toyota dont want pictures of the backseat. AND THATS BECAUSE ITS USELESS!

As long as a baby seat and toddler seat fit in the back I'm happy for when I need it. That's why I never bought a mr2 or even a jz80 supra. Well the supra has back seats for people with no legs !
Majority of the time will be me by myself in the car late at night going sideways every chance I get. |
Even if they're useless, I appreciate them because I can just throw stuff back there and reach for it whenever I need it. And since the car is so small, should be fairly reachable.
Versus let's say an S2000 where it either goes in the trunk or on the passenger seat. Plus, in the worst case scenario you *have* to carry some passengers, you still can, which is a big difference instead of telling said person that he's SOL. |
You all got it wrong...
