Buddy Club Spec II - FT-86 SpeedFactory Review - Photos and Videos

Well we had lots and lots of people ask us to review the Buddy Club Spec II exhaust system for the Scion FRS and Subaru BRZ. So we found the time and got a break in the weather to get that done. The Dyno we use in town is currently being moved so that will have to wait but I can tell you right now my "butt dyno" felt gains over the Q300 I had on the car which should be expected due to the lack of any restriction really.

( VIDEO REVIEW AT BOTTOM OF THREAD )

*Installed with Invidia Catless front pipe. I wouldn't expect to much of a sound change with a catted front pipe but it would probably be a tad quieter.

Review:
My initial impression was, "Holy cow take that back off the car right now." But I'm old and cranky, so we left it and I spent two days with the system on the car. After having some spirited fun with the car I turned out to really love the way this thing SCREAMS when un-silenced. Letting the car roar to 8000RPM is almost primal in nature and I liked every second of it. This exhaust on a track car would really come alive.

It does come with a silencer ( pictured below ) that actually does a decent job of making the cabin somewhat livable. It's still pretty loud outside the car so be warned. Our exterior video shows both modes.

Weight of this system can't be more than 15lbs tops. ( Forgot to weigh it ) and install was easy.

Overall, this exhaust IS intended for a track car. Can it be used on a daily driver? Sure depending on your personal taste. With the silencer it isn't half bad. I'd say a few notches above the Invidia N1 sound level. Personally I wouldn't DD this exhaust, but again that's personal taste and everyone is different. The videos at the bottom should answer any questions you may have about sound. If not post them up! :)

If your car is a weekend, track, autocross, or fun car only this thing rocks. I'd definitely have it on the car.

Picture time!

Sounds pretty badass. Any drone on this beast?

It's pretty close. I'll get a measurement. It's in MM if I remember right.

So you guys feel the weight reduction isn't as significant as the design suggests? That's pretty dissapointing.

PS Thanks for another great product video!

Not sure where we said that it wasn't significant?

I would say it is very significant, but thought of it more of a given. The stock system is heavy and dropping 30-40lbs with this if not more is huge in the overall planning of building a track orientated car.

I'm guessing Karl's new dyno is more expensive then the one you guys use?

Guys, this system is practically a straight pipe...there is a significant amount of drone. Not much you can really do about it. :bonk:

If you are a hardass and like the attention on the street, this is the exhaust for you :D

Whoops! Apologies, I miss read the review and took it as meaning it weighs 15lbs LESS than stock, not 15lbs total haha. Yes that is significant weight savings, close to what the titanium systems are weighing!
