What type of gas? Station brand preference?

What type of gas does everyone put into their FR-S? The manual says 93 octane rating but 91 can be used with no detriment to the engine.. but if I'm not mistaken most stations have 87,89,93 and no 91. So we're stuck using premium (93)? Mid-range is a no? Regular a definite no?

And do any particular brand of stations (Shell, Chevron, etc) have better quality gasoline?

I cant get 93 where im from so i have to use 91. Im pretty sure the closest station with 93 is like atleast an hour and a half from me lol

I'm sure there is 93 somewhere around in Tucson but no place I'm aware of. I use 91 and have had no problems. When filling up here at home I use COSTCO and when I'm on the road it's the next statin after I decide I need some gas.

I figured that too, so I did a couple searches and each came up with "no results". So here we are. I'm going to need my first fill-up in about a week so I'm trying to get some input before then.

93 Shell or Mobil for me. I try to get any top tier gas: http://www.toptiergas.com/

Any of the major brands should be fine. I used a no-name gas station once and heard cricket chips from the fuel pump at idle. (Perhaps the ethanol content was higher or something). No problems since I switched back to the usual Shell/Sunoco/Exxon/BP.

When I'm in Georgia I only use Quick Trip. They are also a Top Tier gas company and they are typically a good bit cheaper than Shell.

Hess Gas of course.

There's a shell station in my town that has v-power, I forget the octane rating but it's up there. I also threw in an octane booster to the last tank just for shits and giggles.

So if I go to shell and get 93 octane is that considered V-Power?

I get 93 from either shell or bp only
