Saw this today. :(

And this.

The Northeast is not being kind to these cars....

I'm thinking of buying a seat and turning it into an office chair.

Huh? This post doesn't really make sense (sorry)

The insurance rates for the driver will rise of they were found to be at fault (in the form of a surcharge)

Most of these brz look like they only had front end damage which usually means they rear ended someone or lost control and hit a solid object like a highway divider, a wall etc prolly because of speeding, no vsc/tc etc (speculating)

The car is not to blame.

My insurance rates went up about $10 a month when I renewed with Geico this year. No changes to plan and no accidents/claims filed. =[

Most insurance companies if not all companies have increased rates. It's industry wide. This is not a normal time we live in with the economy the way it is, a ton of people unemployed, more people filing claims, more people are actually trying to claim more money for a loss to supplement their loss of income or loss of job (fraud), more fraudulent claims. Also the cost to fix and replace vehicles cost more than they did before.

It sucks but this is not 2004 and rates were much better before the recession but just like produce prices and gas prices and cost of living goes up so does insurance

Also you live in Brooklyn so when rates go up they usually go up more in high risk areas. Brooklyn is the highest rated area in all of NY.

My rates dropped 8$, but.. State Farm agent told me that was because they over estimated something, it wasn't because of the collision part, doesn't matter since I dropped State Farm and went to USAA.. Now my full coverage is about 75$ a month, still at the 50$ for my GSXR

I was paying 225$ at State Farm, but loved that since progressive wanted 495$ a month just for the bike SF wanted 45$

Usaa rates are hard to beat .. But they have membership requirement of either the customer being in the military or a child of a military member

There is always some attrition. What matters to insurers is the rate of collisions per thousand vehicles.

My rates went down $100 when I renewed in December on a 6month plan. Nothing has changed, no tickets, etc. And I'm under 25...

Oh and, poor BRZs.... :(

That's only half the story. What were you insuring before you bought your BRZ? My rates on my FR-S went up $6.00 a month over what I was paying on an 11 year old Mazda Miata. I'm very pleased.

BRZ is cheaper than my RSX

My renewal came in about $10 more for the next 6 months. However, my wife's went up over $40! So, I think the insurance company is just squeezing us ...nothing has changed since our last renewal.

I was insuring a Celica with Allstate for about $10 less per month although it just had minimal coverage only liability.
