speed bumps

just curious if anybody is having a problem clearing speed bumps in apartment complexes?

Not at apartment complexes, but there are a bunch of speed bumps at a shopping mall nearby that pisses me off. Their almost to the point you need a off-road vehicle to get over the humps, WTF!!

are you contacting them as you go over?.we got i believe, about 4.9 " of clearance under there! i haven't tried yet, because i believe i will hit!

I haven't contacted them as of yet, however I tend to angle in and out of the bumps. I was contemplating on lowering my car, now I'm second guessing that idea.

yeah maybe i will approach at an angle and see what happens.close my eyes, and pray!
seems so tight underneath!

Good luck!

I always go at an angle when I can, or split the speed bump with only two tires. If not, I go really slow over them and never bottom out or anything. I guess it all depends on if your apartment complex are assholes with huge speed bumps.

The run of the mill speed bumps you'll be fine if your stock height. But look out for those awkward big ones, always take it real slow...

Yep, installed KW V3’s and lowered the BRZ 1 3/4".
Have to quickly size up and evaluate road conditions constantly.
All of the damage done so far is under the car - but it's not too bad.
Every time the car is up on the lift and I can inspect, I see the same places scraped.
But, the positive aspects of lowering outweigh the negative - looks, performance.

Never an issue. Speed bumps/humps are not that huge that I need to be that paranoid about them. Although, I do not barrel at them at mach 2.

no problem one stock ride height... i do live where speed bumps is a mission to get out..so having a really lowered car is not a good thing for me..can be lowered but not that low and specially no stance thing :bonk:

I hate the dips more than the speed bumbs... I entered a gas station out of my area once and I was stuck there. On my way down the ramp I knew it was too steep. I was going to scrape the bottom and I sure did :(
