Was the car driven enough between runs for the ECU to adjust? Was the tank totally drained before adding the new fuel?

Any data logs to see what the ECU was doing with different grades?

Did you only do a single pull with each octane rating, or did you do at least three of each to get a good average?

I am in Vancouver and I feel your pain. I am stop and go traffic most of the time and struggle to get 400k from a tank. You have to get out and cruise the open road to get better mileage. This is my daily driver (MT) and I love it but better MPG l/100k would be nice.

The FRS manual specifically calls for 93-94 octane. The ECU is designed to use the highest ignition timing if it can, for that it needs 94. 91 is the bare minimum.

Yes it works fine on 91 but you wont get the same performance.

I use Husky 94 almost exclusively and my mileage will range from about 450 to 600 depending on how i drive.

If i drive like a mad man i get about 450 if i drive nice i get 600.

I use the husky loyalty card plus the husky mastercard.

2 x points for getting premium, another 2x points for using mastercard.

1$ = 1 point

55$ fill x 2 x 2 = 220 points a fill

700 points gets you 5 bucks off.

Plus when i use my MC for other purchases i still get 1 point.

Since i got the card i get 5 or 10 bucks off each fill. Been making some large purchases on the card but still, adds up fast :)

Too bad the few Husky stations I have seen in ON only sell lower octane fuel and have been known to cause runon/knock in the past.

Weird. Every Husky station in Calgary has 94 octane that i have found. Petro is just starting to get 94 in some of their stations.

As far as the power differential look at the difference when applied to a modern BMW engine.

See here for DYNO and ignition advance. Maybe i will get out and log something like this with the FRS>

^^ Not all do, a good percentage still top out at 91 octane.

Around here, the only Petro stations that have 94 are the ones that used to be Sunoco stations.

Not sure on petrocan 94 but I know husky's 94 octane comes from the ethanol content and I'll take 91 with no ethanol any day.
