which is better to use Shell 91 or PetroCanada 94?
I'm debating if i should use Shell 91 with no ethanol or PetroCanada 94 with 10% ethanol? Toronto can be quit cold in the winter and quit hot in the summer, and I don't want to switch back and forth with different octane.

My car mech buddy recommended Chevron 94.
and he said the 91 from Shell will kill your engine faster Please correct me if I am wrong. Also I am here to see what fellow members suggest |
While I'm not in your climate zone I've used 91 exclusively and have had absolutely no problems in 5,000 miles.

I"ve been exclusively using 94. As soon as I went to one tank of Esso 91, it was a reduction in pick-up. I have yet to try an E0 91 shell. I'm curious too.

I have been using mostly shell 91 but i did use 1 tank of petro 94 a while back. really didnt notice a difference at the time but ill have to try it again.
shell is just closer to home for me. |
I bounce back and forth between the Shell and Petro Canada. It doesn't seem to make much difference in the cold weather. When it is warm (or Hot) out, the car seems to like the 94 a little better, but I get crickets. No crickets with the Shell 91 (0% ethanol) warm or cold.

Shell 91 since birth. No ethanol, no problems, no crickets, easy to find.

are there any differences between shell V-power 91 and shell 91?
i used those mixed pumps(you can select 87 89 91) to add 91, and then i saw a single pump supplies only 91(with V-power sticker) |
V Power in Canada is ethanol free.
For performance, Petro 94 is best but you get crickets. I have also used V Power 91 and don't detect any major difference. No Chevron 94 ethanol free in Ontario. It's all good so long as you're 91 octane or above. Winter time isn't really when you want to max out power, so mileage should probably determine your best choice. |
im getting 91 at Petro canada

All the Shell Canada 91 is V-Power.
The 3 product pumps are blender pumps that draw from a V-power(91) and a regular(87) underground tank mixing to generate 89. The V-power only pump will be connected to the V-power(91) tank only. |
i put petro 91 once and it had way more mileage than V power 91. will try another tank of v power 91 tmr to confirm it.
