Pandora
I have a Samsung Galaxy SIII. I have it paired with my car and i use Bluetooth/UBS to play music. When i run my Pandora app on my phone it just streams the music. Is the car Pandora app only supposed to work with the ICrap?
It is just very presumptuous on Scion's part that no one would use an Android phone over an IPhone. i said so on my form Scion had me fill out. TO me, the Bespoke HU is a nice piece of hardware, just really biased at Apple Crap. Perhaps someone can make a Bespoke that works well for android users! And we wouldn't need a 40 pin cable to use it! |
Only Iphones.

I figured as much but I hadn't seen it asked.

Yeah, I too have a GS3 and there is just no love. Sad day is sad.

Unfortunately if look at most car audio manufacturer head units regardless of brand, they all seem to be tailored to work with iPhone/iPod setups with very little Android support that I can see.
Hopefully more manufacturers will get on board with Android support. As far as Pandora Internet Radio goes, I believe your limited to iPhone or iPad and iPod if jailbroken I just bought a Pioneer AVH-P8400BH and its dripping with iPhone/iPod support, so I picked up an iPod touch to utilize some of those apps like Pandora Not alot of support for my Note 2  Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 2 |
So far Bespoke only works with apple stuff, there is supposed to be a update coming to support android later on, but as often as Scion has said stuff is coming and still waiting... I don't know that'd i'd hold my breath.

The Pandora app is not BeSpoke. It's a Pioneer app that only works with iPhones while connected with the cable. Even on Pioneer's other HU's the Pandora app only works with iPhones. It sucks, but I believe it has to do with the iPhone having the ability to be controlled more via the cable or something like that. That's what I read somewhere anyway.

Well I have Pandora on my phone and can stream via Bluetooth. The strangle hold on the market that iCrap has is not good for progress.

FWIW I have the stock audio and I can use Pandora just fine via BT (GS3 as well), but I can only skip through songs and can't thumbs up/thumbs down or change the station using the radio controls. Still, it does at least have basic functionality, and I can just pop the phone into the cubby and not have to physically touch it, which is nice. Upgraded functionality would be nice, but I'd think that would be on the app developer.

I just bought a subscription to it so I will try to see as well

It really is a problem across the whole car audio spectrum.
The rumor is that when companies were originally getting into the whole thing before android really picked up(think ipod not iphone) that they had to agree to make that the proprietary interface device above all others. I think this year we will see a lot more that are Droid friendly. I for one hope so, I despised going back to an Iphone just for car audio functionality. I didn't just cave in and get it solely for that tho, my droid was on its last leg through no fault of its own so i figured hell with it Ill go back iphone until a droid friendly unit is released. |
Yeah. I caved and bout a iPhone so I could use the BeSpoke app and Pandora. I had an EVO 3D which was leaps and bounds better than my iPhone 4s. Now, I've swapped out my HU for my other Pioneer unit that has Pandora integration (still just iPhone). but I'm stuck with the iPhone for a while. :(
That's good news that you can at least skip songs through the HU via bt on the android phones though. Sometimes that's all you really need. I rarely switch stations. |
