Anyone else here ordering their BRZs direct from factory lately?

I recently placed an order with Capitol Subaru in San Jose and got a delivery estimate of May 2013. Today, Putnam Subaru in Burlingame gave me a call and said they have a lead time of only 2-3 months. Looks like estimates aren't very consisteny. Anyone else here in Cali have orders and estimates for their delivery?

How much are you getting it for, if you don't mind me asking. Dealerships have BRZ's in stock in the Bay Area. About a week ago there was a blue one at Livermore. I say shop around, but BRZ's are marked up pretty high in Cali, I guess it depends too.

If you like getting the car sooner than I am going to say the order system now is going to disappoint you. The deliver date dealers throw out are only their best guess and they are depends on Subaru factory. This has been discussed in many other threads basically come down to the color and options you pick (which batch), the size of the dealer ( their allocations lot), customer not picking up or crazy things like dealer screw customer and sell the car to others...I think you can make sure your deposit is refundable at the same time keep searching for one available.

Capitol Subaru offered MSRP for all pre-orders. Eugene the internet sales manager there said that if someone flakes out on a reservation it goes into inventory for sale with markup. I'm not in a rush and May-June is perfect timing for me, just wondering how long the wait is for others.

Putnam Subaru called me again and said the lowest they can go is 1500 over MSRP. Lame.

I preordered my brz in march and received it in november lol. The same dealer that I ordered from, Livermore, said the same thing about marking up the car if the preorder falls through. Have you checked to see how their allocations are for this year?

They said that their allocations up to May are already spoken for and that the earliest I would be able to get my BRZ would be July or August. But when they entered my order into subarunet.com, the ETA that popped up was May 2013 (even called SoA to confirm this and they said the same thing). So honestly, I'm not putting my hopes up too high in expecting an accurate ETA at this point. I don't even know if the extra 2000 BRZ allocations to the US are reflected in these estimates, bleh.

If it's going to come in July or August, you might want to look into pre-ordering the 2014 model. They should be unveiling it in Q2 this year and there's likely an STi model :)
