Induction Poll - NA, Supercharger, or Turbo

Considering the rumors of factory supercharging what would you rather have from Toyota?

ryude 12-02-2011 03:12 PM

"I'm taking a poll."
"What?"
"I'll take your pole..."

I voted for turbo because I see this car not only as a fun to drive sports car, but also a time attack/autocross competitor. In order to lay down competitive lap times its going to have to have a turbocharger. I will be disappointed if fully modified versions don't lap Tsukuba in the 58 second range...

2JZ-GE engine swap with twin turbos. Better yet the 1GZ V12 from the Toyota Century. Because power is the only thing that counts.

For autox, I think NA would be best.

For time attack, it would really need to be AWD to pull the big numbers in street form. There is simply a limit to the amount of power you can transmit to the pavement with only 2 wheels.

edit: I feeeded it :(

FFS....

Midnight Run 12-02-2011 03:41 PM

maybe yall should just wait til the turbo/supercharged version come out? lol (which is never)

Maybe Nissan is observing the progress of GT86/BRZ and will finally signal a GO to get back in cheap RWD sports car segment to compete.

Uh, I'm not trolling, I'm serious. Have you seen the Tsukuba time attack records? Some of the fastest cars are FD RX7's... so that's nonsense that it needs to be AWD. Granted, it can still be fast in NA form if the engine is fully built and weight is dramatically reduced, a la some of the S2000's or Civics.
