This story reminds me of the time someone told me their stock FR-S/BRZ had 400 hp and could run a 1/4 mile in 8 seconds flat. lol

I talked to a kid with a n/a auto supra in moab. He told me it put 600 hp to the wheels. I don't remember his 1/4 claim but I'm sure it was just as made up.

2007: "There's going to be a new Supra!"
2008: "There's going to be a new Supra!"

[2013] "There's going to be a new Supra!"

I remember a thread somewhere about it. (roughly 2 years ago or was it 1 1/2)

That Jalopnik expose' reminds me of a bunch of wannabe-hooners on Woodward in the summer with kids wearing crooked baseball caps claiming their '02 WRX's with only an HKS BOV have a thousand horsepower with a ten second quarter mile time. It's pretty much all the same story; guys with very little experience desperate to impress people they don't know.

It's much more pleasant and sociable when intelligent people own-up to the actual status of their cars [like the fantastic bug-eye WRX] and appreciate them for what they are.

I'm guilty
I do this all the time with the FRS, i don't know about you guys.

"What kind of engine is this?"

"Something Porsche made, it has about 40 PSI and about 450 HP to the front wheels, its a bit slow."

"Scion makes this car?"

"Yup, along with Toyota, Subaru, Nissan, Honda, Acura and Lexus. Maybe BMW and Audi soon."

"Is it fast?"

"Yeah, i hit about 100MPH in about 4 seconds, i beat most Hondas at the light. Lambos don't stand a chance."

Yep, been hearing that same line since 2000. The only reason I have to believe it might be possible is the amazing success of the twins.

I'm not sure if it will ever release. If it doesn't, there are plenty of MK4s around. :]

biggest bullshit story I have heard was that a S2k with cf mods intake running 4 sec 0-60 that or STi with exhaust and intake running 10 secs.

All this was told to me by a guy from school who also thought His B-series Del Sol with cracked Mugen headers could outrun a EVO
