anyone thought of doing something with the steering wheel?

the steering wheel looks rather bare and cheap looking. Anyone thought of doing something about it? Maybe add some color like have the 3'oclock and 9'oclock sections wrapped in red? too bad i donno how. if you have suggestions or photos please post.

I am hoping to send my steering wheel (when I get the car) to JPM Coachworks to have it reupholstered in smooth Nappa leather rather than the perforated. I never cared for perforated leather because it starts to look crappy after a while.

I also plan to repaint the silver section with ALSA Ghost Chrome metallic paint to make it look more like real metal. I will be doing this with the rest of the silver painted sections, too. You could do a 50/50 with black and red leather, like on the Toyota 86:

I believe these wheels are for sale. I'm sure they're not cheap, but you get the idea.

A couple people have used carbon fiber vinyl or overlaid the silver section with carbon fiber; that's another option. Or perhaps you could try painting it piano black along with the other accents. Just throwing ideas out there.

Oh, you're in the GTA too? Awesome. If you find someone to do this, please post it up! I'm thinking of getting my interior trim done red like the JDM one. I can probably Plastidip most of the trim pieces, but I have no idea how to do the steering wheel.

Find a good upholsterer or buy the JDM steering wheel. I'm willing to bet Carson Toyota or Japanparts.com can get it for you.

Diggin that deep corn. Is this the 330mm one? Matches the interior perfectly. Might have to look into this one...
