What do you think the STI prices are going to be?
In 2014 I am planning on getting the BRZ since all the quirks from the first model production year will be fixed, seeing the STI version concept of this car makes me want to own one. Where do you see it sitting in around the 31-40k area? Doesn't seem to much it the car doesn't eve get a power upgrade?

I am thinking around $32K-$34K.
and i don't think there will be no STI in 2014. maybe in 2015 |
Somewhere between the current BRZ and the WRX STI. That's if they decide to build one.
|
I'm fairly confident it will be between $30-35k.

$29,999, so it can be marketed under $30K.

I also see $32-34K. The BRZ is nearly the same price as the WRX. The WRX STi jumps $9-11K over the WRX, and it does so simply by changing parts. The biggest ticket items that are changed; brakes, 6sp tranny, BBS wheels, DCCD and Torsen diffs, and some cosmetic stuff. There's a lot of little adds/upgrades here and there that add to the cost as well, but these are the big things.
Most of this can also apply to the BRZ; Just because it's not AWD or turbo doesn't mean they can't/won't change as much stuff. The tranny is likely good enough already, but big brakes, lighter forged wheels, better exhaust, clutch type diff, forged suspension bits, cosmetic stuff, and possibly an electronics package that ties into the diff (similar to DCCD?) could all quickly bump the price $6-8K easily. |

Look at it from your average consumer's point of view. Do lightweight forged wheels impress them more or bigger 18" wheels? |

The BRZ STi MSRP price will be: $30,625

They'll likely be 18's, you're correct there, but the STi and EVO both came/come with forged BBS wheels, and both were under 40K, I've owned a 2004 STi (BBS forged 17"), 2006 Evo MR (BBS forged 17"), and 2008 STi (BBS forged 18"). So, yes, it's a reasonable expectation that the BRZ STi will come with forged BBS as well. |

Currently the base WRX is 25.7 and the STI is 34.2. That's a difference of 8,500 which would put the BRZ STI right at 34K prior to TTL, so assume your out the door price would be right near 36K. I think the thing that has been overlooked here is that the BRZ is selling like crazy and getting (almost) nothing but stunning reviews. There is a possibility that Subaru might bank on this, or more specifically the dealers might. I'd guess the allotment of STI's will be pretty low, 1-2 per dealership at least for the first year. If I had to make a guess I would say MSRP would be 34,000 at the very least. |
$35k min, $38k I think. Just adding all the STI goodies from Japanparts.com, from body kits to suspension and wheels and the push start button, and adding a "STI engine tuned ECU".
Yes, I am not deducting the parts that they replaced, those are for the STI brand premium. |
regardless what kind of STI comes out, i won't buy it. i will add performance parts from other aftermarkets.
