Spending my money on Perrin Catback or Tune

I can get in on a GB for 760$ shipped for a Perrin catback exhaust. My likely hood of adding FI will be 2-3 years out easy.( Saving for a house) I love how the Perrin catback sounds. This is something that can be enjoyed on a daily basis while still adding a bit of power. This is going to go with a perrin light weight pulley(ordered), and an aFe intake(have, waiting to be installed).

Or I can get a Tune from either FA20Club, John or Perrin (not sure who yet) to go along with the pulley, and intake. I am hoping this would net a nice 15 WHP peak gain and average around 8-12 throughout the power band along with a nice 8-10 torque bump.

I know most will say a tune combo would be my best bet, but I want to hear from others.

Get the exhaust then a tune

dem00n 01-06-2013 09:53 PM

Both.

Just choose which one to get now.

I'd say get Exhaust, that why when you get the tune you'll get to fully use it...IMO.

Oh I plan to get both. Just not sure which will be first. Depending how big my tax return is will decide if one or the other will have to wait till spring or be a bit sooner.

Exhaust. The car NEEDS it.

Exhaust. Make a world of difference.

Just the catback system or the full headerback? If only the catback, I say go for the tune, but the tune will change once you add intake and exhaust. It all kinda goes together once you get it in place.

Tune first. An exhaust doesn't yield much of a gain. The smart money is on a tune.

Wouldn't he then have to get it retuned after getting exhaust?

Get exhaust first...the stock exhaust is a sick joke...

No. You think a tuner is going to tune your car any differently if you have a stock exhaust or not?

Is this a trick question?

Nope.
