How soon after snow melts does salt clear from roads?

For owners keeping their cars off the roads for the winter, how soon after the snow melts do you deem it "ok" to take it back out? I assume the salt isn't mostly gone immediately after the snow melts (because I can still see crystals on the road) and only good showers would clear most of the salt away. This is my first time living with a car in an area that snows. Is there a rule of thumb for this?

Rule of thumb is you take out the warm weather car when it stops snowing or dropping below freezing. I plan on April 1. Guess I'm a fool.

Need a couple good rains and watch your winter vehicles paint. Once that white powdery film goes away you should be good to go.

So far, my opti-coat has kept it salt free and i live in Detroit where the salt all the roads. I just take it to the quarter pressure wash and by the time i drive it home, everything has beaded off and it is salt free...also optimum no rise with the two bucket method is amazing.

Yeah I agree. This car comes with a rust proofing from the factory and they really only salt after big snows here so I just take it through a touch-less or go to the self serve pressure wash. The nice thing about salt is it dissolves nicely in water, so a good rinse down can remove almost all traces of salt.
