Under hood detailing.
 

Some folks are very picky and some could care less,but i like when the engine has that "brand new" look even after a couple years of wear and tear,not to mention salted roads and corroded plating.The best time to do it is right away or before your first winter(salting)

A business associate of mine who is an old timer and more of a rod&custom type showed me a trick to keeping a cars under hood looking new.Using a airbrush with clearcoat on all of the plated fasteners under the hood.Including metal lines and such.Its really easy and you can eliminate any overspray.Since airbrushes are so small and precise,you can really get into all of those tight places and lay down just the right amount.Its unbelievable how good some of my cars looked when i finally sold them.I went as far as the front end and brake lines on some.


I store my FRS so corrosion is not that much of a factor,but I plan on keeping this car for at least the next 5-7 years.It does not take long and will add years to the factory platings look.I don't think anyone cares for the white rust look.:thumbdown:

It does not matter what brand,Ebay and craigs have them used for literally half price of new.They look like this and are powered by a mini compressor

I use an Iwata k9100 and love it. For beginners, id recommend the Neo Iwata from Hobby Lobby...you can find those pretty inexpensive, about $60. There are cheaper brushes then that, and more expensive ones then my setup. but it's a lot of fun airbrushing things.
