It almost sounds like the cell phone guys on android forums.. Well I can get this now, but that is coming out.... And after that something else will come out... When the 15's come out you'll start hearing about the 17's.. It's not going to stop... It's the same as the people saying they are waiting for the next version of the FRS.. Well once that comes out hopefully another version will be after that.. Anytime you buy anything now a days.. Some thing better will be coming out right after..

If the low 30's is your price range, have you considered a used boss.. I'm sure you could find in the low 30

why would you want a small car that you supercharge and have to guess about reliability as you throw away your warranty? my guess would be that he likes it because its faster than the frs in just about every category including road racing. weight loses its advantage as speed goes up but power doesnt. there is a reason why the fastest production cars are the ones with the most power and not the lightest ones.

Exclusivity? Mustangs are a dime a dozen. I have nothing against them and they're one of the best bang-for-buck cars around, but they're f'ing everywhere...

Forced induction is not new technology...if he's willing to wait for a 2015 Mustang, I'd say wait and see how forced induction twins hold up first...jmho...

Agreed. I bought the FR-S to be my high mpg commuter. It serves as a dual purpose fun/economical piece. I have a couple other toys in the garage
too.

The only thing that's really known to be changing with the next gen Mustang is the IRS, a bit smaller, and more aerodynamic. The v8 is supposed to get DI eventually but probably not too many updates after the whole refresh. Ford is pretty slow about updating engines especially for niche models.

There is supposed to be an Ecoboost Mustang eventually and many people are guessing on an Ecoboost 4 banger for the new base engine. :iono:

I think Ford is going to really screw up the design of the next generation Mustang. The retro look will be gone (which is probably a good thing as this point), but if you've seen some of the concept pics, the newly styling direction looks more like a Hyundai Genesis than a Mustang. Hopefully they'll come to their senses before starting production.

Have you driven a Boss? I thought the ride in a 302 LS with stiffer than stock suspension was still luxurious compared to the BRZ. I agree on the financial side of course.

What were the shocks set to? The Boss and Laguna Seca have adjustable shocks with 5 settings. The Boss's stiffest setting is the LS's softest. I've driven a Boss set to 3. It was comfortable but controlled, much better than the soft wallowing GT Brembo Convertible I drove. I believe a Laguna Seca on its stiffest setting all around is virtually unusable on anything other than a glass smooth surface.
