Stay away from Carlsen Subaru of Redwood City, CA

Carlsen Subaru of Redwood City, CA is one of the worst dealers I've ever had to deal with. I bought a 2013 BRZ from them on Dec 17 and ever since then it's been a huge mess trying to work with them. I had noticed that there is damage from the license plate installation, due from either a design flaw in the bracket or improper install. (of course the dealer says it was installed correctly) First when I had told them about the issue I was hung up on and told it was my fault/problem. Then the sales manager had stepped in and told me he was the GM (I later found out he was not) and he was telling me he was going to help me out and it was taking a while and nothing was getting done. Just a lot of empty promises. Meanwhile I had gotten my customer satisfaction survey and I had went ahead and answered honestly a day later todd had called me at 7PM telling me im now on my own because I answered the survey with my honest opinion. At this point I want nothing to do with Subaru or their dealer network. I have owned 2 infiniti's and a bmw and never had these issues. I should have stayed with luxury brands who don't treat their customers like dirt. Stay away from Carlsen Subaru.

I got a bug in my iPhone screen!!

Sorry to hear that man, pretty much most of the dealerships here in norcal are friggin asses. And just coz you were being honest with the survey doesnt mean that they can tell you that you're on your own, that's just not right.

I don't understand. Was I supposed to lie? All I said was that the dealership looked clean and I was helped right away. They were quick at coming to a deal but when it came down to customer service after the sale it was a nightmare and they wouldn't get back to me and they had damaged my car. I was honest I was not about to tell them a lie so they would get away with treating customers like dirt.

And I may not have very many posts so some of you may not take me seriously but I had over 1k in posts and like 20+ Trader reviews on the forum for my old car. I'm just starting out here :)

Since you are On your own now, send your experience to SOA.

What salesman did you have at carlsen? I bought my brz there too in November and I had Larry Fung and he was great.

Chris Bowers.

That's too bad, but to be honest, dealer experience could be so hit or miss. This is the very reason I went all the way to Livermore to purchase mine, and still take for service.

I love my FR-S, that's the only satisfaction that I've gotten from my dealer. That's it. Just enjoy you car man coz you'll pretty much forget all the shitty experiences you've had from you dealer. And if anything happens to you car that needs to be taken care of by the dealership they can never refuse you coz you can sue them if needed.

Noted.

Less than a day later SOA contacted me and let me know that Diablo Subaru (Local dealer to me) Will replace my bumper :) Carlsen had me running around for weeks. From now on I'm never giving the dealer the chance to make it right. I was trying to be nice and let them fix their mistake. Never again.

Honestly it sounds like you did everything right and from what I can tell, you didn't act immature. I'm glad SOA did the right thing. You shouldn't right off a whole car brand from one bad dealership experience tho

"GM" (Later found out he was a sales manager) was telling me he was working with SOA on getting the problem solved. SOA solved the problem in a few hours. Carlsen was taking weeks. I had assumed this was SOA and Carlsen working at it and it was taking weeks and it was pissing me off I thought SOA was giving me the run around as well. Turns out carlsen never wanted to make it right or help me.
