Garagefrs.com
I remember entering a chance to win $10,000 in tuning parts from garagefrs.com, and guess what, I've received an email saying that I have been chosen. Now, I'm kind of skeptical because I have been receiving a lot of junk email lately and I don't want to be a victim of identity theft. Attached to the email is a affidavit requiring SSN, address, driver license and so on.
Is this legit or a scam? Email is from sorc.com Thanks! |
I would say scam. Contact them directly by phone instead. Although I do not see any way to contact them by looking at their website. I would never send that sort of information by Email.
"The Garage FR-S sweepstakes to win tuning parts for the Scion FR-S is now over – thank you to everyone who entered! Be on the lookout for the December drawing and announcement of the promotion’s three winners on GarageFRS.com" If it turns out to be real, that is awesome! |
Yeah, I would call and verify with someone before you start giving out SSNs....
|
I assumed they need all those information for tax purposes since it's well over $600 as stated on their document.
Here's what the email state: You are the winner of the First Prize Package which consists of the following parts: • Toyo Tires (4) Tires Proxes T1 Sport up to 20” • Dai Yoshihara Wheels (4) • DC Sports Short Ram Intake System & Universal Muffler • KW Suspension Coilover Kit • Tanabe Sustec Front Strut Tower Bar • Tanabe Sustec 4 Point Under Brace • Mackin R40 KICs lug nuts |

Yes, they have a phone number listed on the email. I've already contacted them and was told to get it done by the 15th to get the prize shipped to me. I've talked to a lady who sounds professional and courtesy so hopefully all goes well.

congrats man! cant wait to see them on your car
|
You should make a thread for Before and After (and in-progress) shots. :)
|
Congrats (Hopefully).
If I was in your shoes I would do it all in person. Since your location says CA maybe take a trip down to them. I believe they are from Socal so it shouldn't be more then a 5-6 hour drive even if you're from the most northern area of Cali. |
If the email came from sorc.com thats Source Interlink. I would contact them.

Well, I did a little of investigation of Maria Jamison and the phone number listed on the email and it seems legit. Here's the contact person info given on the email.
