South Florida - PBIR Test & Tune

From what I've gathered, there are "Test & Tune" days at Palm Beach International Raceway on Wednesdays and Fridays. Has anyone attended one of these? Do you just pay your $20 and wait in queue for track time? How is it? I'm interested in going sometime this week but I wanted to see if anyone could give me some feedback. Maybe we could organize a small meet there sometime.

No sir, Test & Tune is strictly on the drag strip.

Alright, gotcha. I've been sort of sifting around for the past few days trying to dig up less expensive track day/drift sessions. Any recommendations? I'm not very interested in paying $300 for my first day at the track.

There is very little alternative in Florida to the expensive track days.

There is a track in North Florida that is $200 for a full day (about twice the track time as a normal track day at a big track) or a half day for $150. It's a very demanding track too. Much more difficult for a street car than Sebring IMO.

It's also a lot less safe. ERS is fun, but it's definitely not for new guys IMO.

Didn't think about that. I never felt unsafe but if you really overcook a couple of corners, I can see how that would be a real problem.

The only turn that felt sketchy to me had a large runoff if you understeer off the track.

They have made changes in the past year so make it safer if you haven't seen it since though there still is a wall at the beginning/end of the track

If you want a taste, keep an eye out for AutoX events. I did my first one for $30 and finished the day very happy.
