Anyone in GTA lower their car AND drive in the winter?
 

I'm going to get new wheels and tires in the spring (probably 18's), and I'm thinking of lowering my car to reduce the tire gap even more. BUT, my car is my daily driver so I use it in the winter as well. During the big snow we had last week, I was already kind of scared of the snow on the road. I'm not sure if driving a lowered FR-S is even possible in our winters. Anyone wanna share their experiences?

I wouldnt recommend it. Im riding at stock height, and my nose of the car kept plowing some areas of snow (luckily it wasnt frozen snow/ice chunks) otherwise it would crack the bumper.

Secondly, lowering your car = more -ve camber = less tire contact on the road during straight line driving (plus you probably cant corner that hard in the snow to appreciate negative camber)

I would love to lower mine as well. But this is CANADIAN WINTER!!!

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. I'm riding at stock height, and the car's pretty low as it is, and during the snow storm last week, I got scared every time I saw a clump of snow on the highway. lol

Just wish there was some other way to get rid of that tire gap. :mad0259:

My old jetta was much lower than my FRS is stock, and I never got it stuck anywhere in the 4 winters I drove it. It all depends on how much you plan on dropping an FRS too. If you plan on slamming it 3" you'll likely have issues, but if you only drop it about an inch I doubt you'll notice it compared to stock.

As for the camber, if you drop it you NEED to get an alignment, not just live with the increased camber.
