brz navigation headunit in frs?

Guys,

I was searching around and couldn't seem to find any info on the following:

I'm interested in installing a BRZ headunit into my FRS. I was wondering if anyone has done this and know if it is plug and play or if there is more that needs to be done.

Any help on this is much appreciated.:thanks:

I have a BRZ and I'd say don't waste the money on this unit. It gets the job done, but there's much better out there.

^^Agreed. There's a couple DIY posts for 7" tablet installs- the stock BRZ unit is more of a headache to operate than the install would be.

The harness is probably different- for example you don't have a nav antenna. I hear the nav on it sucks. Get a Pioneer for similar $ to asking on the BRZ units.

I've never had any issues with mine. I do hear a lot of complaints though.

To me, it's a decent stock radio. It has it's shortcomings, but I would do something else if it was a decision between the BRZ headunit or third party as an addon feature.

Bump. Anyone know if BRZ head unit and navigation module plugs and play in FRS?

Definitely not plug and play.

Definitely doable.

Definitely not worth the time and money. Buy a Pioneer.

If you are still interested contact SVXdc, he makes transplant kits for Subarus and I'm sure he could figure this out. His website is ae64.com and he is a member on this forum under SVXdc but much more active over on NASIOC.
