I retract my previous statement on subies bland interior. I'm taking this over Scion because of that interior. It looks closest to the JDM version.

Both interiors actually are really nice, not the typical Scion stuff you normally see... Even release series Scions get pure plastic interiors that are all hard plastic...

I'm not digging the silver on the BRZ... Looks tacky... However, I'm not sure that the model on the site is the USDM model because they still have clear corners on the car... So we've still a ways to go to see the final USDM version but it probably won't be more than amber lights...

P.S. SF Taco owner looking at a 86/BRZ? :D

I'm crossing my fingers for a black interior and hoping that the digital gauges don't disappear on the US model.

Oh the digital stuff WILL BE THERE... That is not going to change just for the pond crossing...

It's redundant, but it WILL BE THERE...

I'm sure the lowest trims will be all one color... Color is usually the best way for a brand to make extra $ and the desire for someone to get into something they like is the oldest trick in the book...

Unless you're in supercar territory (or flagship models), mundane plain interiors will be most common in lowest trims... So unless you're in STi, the basic WRX will have a pretty toned down interior...

Same here. I hope nothing changes.

I don't think I've ever seen an orange Subaru. I'm set on the world rally blue anyways.

It has changed in other cars. Nissan has done it, Honda has, I'm sure Toyota has also.

OK, so I've been comparing the photos on the Subaru website with the photos from Tokyo.

The differences I've noticed, except for (obviously) the rear spoiler and the amber (US spec) vs clear (euro spec) corner lights, are: (1) the exhaust tips, and (2) the upper 'fog" lights.

As far as the exhaust tips are concerned, it doesn't surprise me that the base US model is going to come with the smaller tips. The exhaust tips on the Tokyo cars struck me instantly as something you would see either on an STi model or available from Subaru as an add-on through SPT. Sadly, the Tokyo tips look a bit too "trick" for what I would expect to see on a US spec base model.

I am disappointed with the upper "fog" lights pictured on the Subaru website car. They look like they were stuffed in there as an afterthought. I mean, it's a fog light sitting above a fog light. Are the upper lights LED? Is that the difference?

I wonder if some marketing folks asked for them in order to 1) differentiate the BRZ base features from the Scion, and/or 2) to jack the base price by several hundred bucks. I also wonder if the two additional lights are somehow required by US DOT?

Bottom line, I REALLY like the Tokyo cars, especially in blue. I wish SOA could ship one of those over to my dealer, without changing anything. Hopefully SOA doesn't mess with it too much, so that I can at least put one together for myself with SPT or JDM add-ons.

anyone notice that the headunit and the gauge cluster looks different from the one that BRZ was equipped with at the TMS? could this really be US version then? it's hard to see but the gauge cluster seems to be in MPH... someone use their CSI photoshop skills please haha
