BRZ Headunit/Radio Rattle

I had what I thought was a rattle from the trim surrounding the radio after having the GPS antenna TSB performed. However, after still experiencing a rattling noise after removing the radio trim and driving around, I noticed that the rattle is in fact coming from the radio faceplate. Is anyone else experiencing a similar issue? I'll contact the dealer about it soon but I'm not quite sure what they'll do about it since there's no obvious easy fix for it.

I've got the same thing. It just started recently.

..

almost same issue here. But mine is the actual trim around the radio. Driving me insane!!. Packed it with foam the other day, still there. When I remove the trim the sound is gone. It's a plastic rubbing sound. Will scout the forums for solution.

I pulled apart the radio trim today in an effort to duplicate the rattling noise while stationary. I was unable to definitively pinpoint the source of the noise but I was able to duplicate it which should be helpful in getting the dealer to resolve it. I uploaded a video to Youtube which features me duplicating the noise and have attached it to the first post. Make sure your volume is turned up.

Bumping this old thread instead of making a new one. My 2013 Bespoke HU is rattling like crazy. If i push down on the dash, like on the "leather" part of the hump that sits on the middle vents, it goes away. I hate rattles so this is driving me nuts. Anyone have a solution?

I have the exact same noise on my BRZ with the nav unit. It seems to get worse as the outside temperatures get warmer. It disappears completely in sub 30º weather. I was going to have the dealer address it, this summer when I feel like leaving the car there. It's like a ticking/rattling noise. Removing the center vents does not fix it, but pushing down firmly on the top "hump" of the dash makes it go away.

Bump.

I have this issue as well and have a few ideas I'm trying out. Problem is it'll go away for a week and then come back, so it's really hard to narrow it down. I'll update here if I come up with a fix.

Bringing back old thread. Occurs in my 2013 BRZ Limited as well. I can push in the head unit and the rattle won't come back for various lengths of time. Typically occurs (but not limited to) when under 2000 rpm and strolling through my neighborhood. Forgot if it happens on the freeway as well. I'm over 60,000 mi so I no longer have a warranty under Subaru. I'll try to take the head unit out and see what all the fuss is about.

Edit: Ha! Just realized the last post was exactly one year ago.

i don't have that yet, try putting some various pieces of Dynomat or rubber washers on contact points or possible contact points
