Need V-belt tensioner torque value...
After installing my Crawford AOS, it looks like I may have inadvertently loosened the tensioner pulley bolt beyond factory spec. It's making a high-pitched whirrrr sound and I know that can't be good.
I've attempted to look it up in the FR-S manual but it appears that the web scraper had some authentication issues when it got to that page. Any help would be greatly, greatly appreciated! :thanks: |
I ended up purchasing a subscription to Subaru's Tech Info site for 3 days. The v-belt tensioner is a self-contained unit and the manual does not carry torque values for that pulley.
I did, however, find the *real* culprit. It's one of the idler pulleys and I don't feel like pressing out the bearing. I ordered a replacement through Scion. BTW, the torque value for idler pulleys: 26.6 ft-lbf. :) |
I think i have the same problem. I'm at 40k miles and 25k of those are with the Vortech kit. I recently changed my crank pulley (perrin) and accessories (nst). I also put on a new belt. Everything was normal for about 3000 miles. Now I hear a whirling chirping sound that seems to be coming from a/c compressor. Its hard to tell because it only likes to do it under load. Typically 2500-5000 rpms. It also does this a lot more on decel. It has got progressively worse over the last two weeks. Seems to not do it nearly as much on colder days. It also seems to go away after the engine bay is heat soaked. I have noticed now that twice when I first turned my A/C on it blows a little bit of frost. It has never done this before. I live in Houston Tx.
