Where to get catback installed near Thronhill

Finally picked up a Magnaflow catback for my vehicle yesterday.

Thanks to Steve at JRP!! They have good deals in stock now.

A heads up if anyone gets a Cusco catch can, the Japanese instructions are totally wrong unless you want to run off the wrong vent.

Question is, where to go and get the exhaust installed and not get overcharged one time?

I'd do it myself, but no lift access. My initial thought was a place like Speedy or Midas or Meineke but not sure if they will try and take advantage since they cant sell me any hardware.

Just take it to Speedstar.

Got my exhaust from JRP as well. installed it in my garage lol.

why didn;'t you just have JRP install it?

AFAIK they don't normally do installs. Also, I didn't have the FR-S with me at th time.

I need to get a new floorjack, as the one "handed down" to me a while back doesn't work. Wondering if I could do it myself with a working floor jack and jack stands. Dont want to end up crushed under the vehicle obviously, and safety is most inportant. I have a basic metric ratchet/sockets and I have 4 jack stands.

fenixv8 I'd do my own work but being a relative newb I would like to know what you used.

Safety is unimportant! If you get crushed under the car, you should be more worried about potential paint damage from the jack stands and how the suspension will handle a 1 foot drop!

(I live in Thornhill, and the only place I know that does installs like this would be Z1 Cycletech... But they only work on things that have 2 wheels. :P)

make the drive to Teknotik, it'll be worth your while.

I actually have a hoist but my nsx is on it.

I just used a floor jack, jack stands and some metric sockets.

If you want to hold out till spring you can use my hoist and I can give you a hand.

But if you want a shop that knows what they are doing. Check out Speedstar.com

The only place I would bring my NSX/S2000/FRS

Nice cars! Thanks for the offer. Either way Ill wait till spring or maybe get a set of Rhino ramps.

ART Motorsports...ask for the owner Patrick, tell him Bryan referred you. He's an enthusiast; I think he and Nextmod sponsor a race team. I had my catback installed there because I was too lazy to do the work myself for the $60-70 quid he charges.

Damn NSX S2000 FRS and a hoist! That's like my reasonably priced dream garage! How long does it take to install on your own? I would just wait until spring and install it with a friend.

l8apexr 12-31-2012 10:26 AM

Hoists are relatively inexpensive these days if anyone is looking... $2200-$3000. I also have one.

S2K + NSX + FRS = ah mazing! Drool!

In the same cul-de-sac as ART there's another place called Defcon racing as well. I had my tint done there (through Carbox though), looks like a decent shop.

wbradley 12-31-2012 11:37 PM

Well perhaps others will benefit from the listing of local shops on this thread. Thanks for all the replies.

Incidently, just ended up putting the car on jacks and did the install in my garage today. It sounds awesome at low revs and doesn't get loud at cruising RPMs. Deleted the noise tube as well since the exhaust provides that true sports car sound.

Not in the same building, but same cul-de-sac.
